IT Gadgets And Their Applications:-
IT Gadgets and their applications are devices or information technology. It is a term that covers all available devices, such as television sets, cell phones, personal computers, and tablets. The devices are used in business, education, communication, healthcare, medicine, banking, scientific research, and entertainment to communicate with each other in the digital world through specially-designed applications. You can use a computer for different applications by changing various kinds of software packages.
There are some IT Devices:
- Laptops and Notebooks
- Personal Digital Assistants (PDAs)
- Tablet Personal Computer (PC)
Laptops and Notebooks:-
- A laptop computer is a portable, personal computer often designed to fit on your lap and hence the name is given to it. It can operate on batteries or a power supply or both. It can be carried in your suitcase easily. Figure 1.1 depicts a laptop model.
- A notebook is a smaller and lighter version of the laptop model.

PDAs (Personal Digital Assistants):-
Personal Digital Assistant (PDA) is a handheld computer popularly known as a Palmtop. It has a touch screen and a memory card for the storage of data, as shown in figure 1.2. It provides personal information management functions, such as a calendar, an appointment book, an address book, a calculator, and a notepad.

Tablet PC:-
Tablet computers are commonly shortened as Tablet PCs and are defined as flat, thin mobile computers that come fitted with a touchscreen display. Tablets come installed with applications that perform all kinds of tasks. The two operating systems used with tablets are Apple iOS which is used with iPads and Google Android which is used with Android tablets. Figure 1.3: depicts a Tablet PC.

Uses of Computer:-
The use of computers daily in our life is very important. Technically, in daily life, a computer is used to convert row facts and data into meaningful information. From the government to the private sector, everyone is using computers. Users of the computer are constantly growing, as shown in figure 1.4:

The uses of the computers are discussed below:
- Scientific Research: There are various computer applications used in scientific research such as data storage, data analysis, instrumentation control, and knowledge sharing. The speed and the accuracy of the computer are enabled scientific analysis to be carried out very fast. Computers are now an integral part of teaching techniques in universities and research institutes. Without computers, researchers find themselves in a very difficult situation to carry out their studies.
- Office Management: Almost every organization ( business or non-business) is moving toward making paperless offices, so computers are widely used today.
- Computers in Business: Shops and supermarkets use software, which calculates the bills. Taxes can be calculated and paid online. Accounting is done using computers. Software is used in major stock markets. One can do trading online.
- Communication: Use of e-mail or electronic mail to send long messages, reports, and so on to many persons all over the world for a very low price.
- Entertainment: Movies, animation films, advertisements in newspapers, TV, and so on using computers extensively. The entertainment industry uses computers even to plan the production of movies as well as to create various special effects.
- Examination: You can give online exams and get instant results. You can check your examination results online.
- Travel: One can book air tickets or railway tickets and make hotel reservations online. It reduces time wastage and travel time for everyone.
- Banks: All financial transactions are done by computer software programs. They provide security, speed, and convenience. The use of a computer has allowed the banks to improve many of the facilities offered to them. One can use Automated Teller Machines (ATM) to deposit and withdraw cash 24 hours a day, throughout the year.
- Mathematical Calculation: Thanks to computers, which have computing speeds of over a million calculations per second, you can perform the biggest of mathematical calculations.
- Internet: It is a network of computers in the world. you can browse through much more information than you could in a library. That is because computers can store enormous amounts of information. You can also have very fast and convenient access to information. Through e-mail, you can communicate with a person sitting thousands of miles away in seconds.
