What is IoT?

  • IOT stands for Internet of things. It was developed by Kevin Ashton. It is a concept that connects everyday things embedded which electronic software and sensors to the internet enabling to collection and exchange of data without human interaction called the internet of things    (IoT).
  • The internet of things has evolved due to the convergence of multiple technologies, real-time analytics, machine learning, commodity sensors, and embedded system.
  • The term "Things" in the internet of things refers to anything and everything in day-to-day life which is accessed or connected through the internet.

How Does the Internet of Things Work?

  1. The entire IOT process starts with devices like smartphones, smartwatches, and electronic appliances like TV and washing machine, which helps you communicate with the IOT platform. IoT applications are used in everyday objects with connectivity and intelligence in various domains, such as:
  • Healthcare
  • Agriculture
  • Industrial Automation
  • Wearable Technology

Wearable Technology: Wearable IOT technology is one of the fastest-growing IOT applications and today it is easily accessible to the masses. We see the use of fitness trackers, heart rate monitors, smart glasses and smartwatches, etc. everywhere nowadays.

What is the Internet of Things?

  1. Internet of Things is a recent technology that creates a global network of machines and devices that are capable of communicating and exchanging data with each other through the Internet. There is a difference between the Internet of Things and the Internet. The Internet of Things can create information about connected objects, analyze it, and make decisions; in other words, one can tell that the Internet of Things is smarter than the Internet. Security cameras, sensors, vehicles, buildings, and software are examples of things that can exchange data with each other.
  2. The term IoT refers to things that we use every day that also connect to the internet, allowing us to either control or receive data about that “thing” from our smartphone or computer.
 ADVANTAGE OF IOT

  • Automation: The general idea of IOT involves direct communication between separate devices, apparatuses, and other hardware without human interference.

  • Connectivity: Enhanced connections within one network worldwide provide easy access to various information.

  • Communication: IOT encourages communication between devices, also known as machine-to-machine (M2M) communication. Because the physical device can stay connected, total transparency is available with lesser inefficiencies and greater quality.

  • Money: The biggest advantage of IOT is saving money. If the price of the tagging and monitoring equipment is less than the amount of money saved, then the internet of things will be very widely adopted.

Challenges of IOT :

  • Big data
  • Connection to 5000 things in everyday life.
  • Too much complexity.
  • Influences of organization in society.
  • Advertising industry.

Challenges of IOT IOT technology

Conclusion:

  • IOT can connect devices embedded in various systems to the internet.
  • IOT is everywhere.
  • It delivers smart, connected, and secure customer experiences.
  • Physical Object + Controller, Sensor and Actuators + Internet = IOT
  • Gather + Enrich + Stream + Manage + Acquire = IOT

    • In conclusion, the Internet of things is the concept in which the virtual world of information technology is connected to the real world of things. The technologies of the internet of things such as RFID and sensor make our life better and more comfortable.
